Shailene Woodley Ditches Her Heels at the Star-Studded "Insurgent" Premiere

Shailene Woodley ditches her heels
Following the premiere, the actress ditched her lace Stuart Weitzman heels and opted to go barefoot. We love her hippie spirit!

With an all-star cast that includes Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, Miles Teller, Ashley Judd, Octavia Spencer, Zoe Kravitz, and Suki Waterhouse, it is of little surprise that The Divergent Series: Insurgent premiere was as blockbuster as the film itself. Insurgent’s plotline is filled with drama and intrigue, just like the stars’ outfits at the NYC debut. All eyes were on Woodley, who wore a black Ralph Lauren Collection halter-top maxi dress with a plunging top and dramatic slip. (Ever the happy hippie, she ditched her lace Stuart Weitzman heels after strolling the carpet.) Meanwhile Waterhouse opted for an ethereal Reem Acra gown, with a similar V-neck top and peekaboo cutouts. And Judd was ready to embrace spring in a sweeping floor-length floral gown that showed off her décolletage. The men looked quite dapper as well in various shades of blue. Ansel Elgort completed his charcoal custom Prada suit with a navy tie, Miles Teller sported a Ralph Lauren Purple Label indigo suit with a blue tie, and Theo James wore a striped azure tie to match his three-piece suit.

Why Kristen Stewart's premiere rocked Cannes

Why Kristen Stewart's premiere rocked

CANNES, France — They saved the best for last on the Cannes red carpet. Clouds of Sils Maria had everything you could dream about for a Cannes Film Festival world premiere. (And it was followed by a celebration for the 20th anniversary of Pulp Fiction, which made for more fun.)

Here's why Sils Maria allowed the festival to make a grand exit on the last night of film competition.

Kristen Stewart

The star was late to Cannes, jetting in after the cast and director Olivier Assayas had already done their initial photocall and press conference.

But what an entrance for Stewart with shocking red hair matching the grand carpet and an audacious pant suit amid a sea of flowing gowns. Stewart, who plays a headstrong assistant to a major movie star in the film, then kicked off her heels and walked into the Palais des Festivals in her bare feet. Heaven.

She was supported by American co-star Chloe Grace Moretz, who wore a playful feathered creation to the premiere.
